About the Role 

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and reliable Cleaning Assistant to join our team at Northfield Primary School.  This is a key role in helping maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure all designated areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard. 
  • Carry out routine cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming dusting and sanitising surfaces. 
  • Refill and replace consumables such as soap, paper towels and toilet rolls. 
  • Report any faults or maintenance issues promptly. 
  • Maintain basic records as directed (e.g. cleaning schedules or stock levels). 

 

Contract Details:  

  • Permanent position, working all year round 
  • 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 
  • Working hours: 3:30pm – 6pm daily 

 

We are looking for someone who:  

  • Has a friendly manner and approachable manner with both staff and pupils 
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team 
  • Is proactive and takes pride in their work 
  • Has previous experience in a cleaning or facilities role (preferred but not essential).
