About the role 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed Teacher of Social Science to join the Ethics, Character and Social Sciences department at Carleton High School. Early Careers Teachers are also welcome to apply, we have a strong support network around our ECTs, including a personal coach.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing strong outcomes for students, as well as demonstrating high quality teaching to ensure students make accelerated progress. They will plan work in accordance with the Trust’s schemes of work and uphold the highest standards of learning and achievement for all students in a range of subjects including Health and Social Care.


This is a 1 FTE, permanent contract with a start date of 1st September 2025. 


We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person who: 

  • has a passion for helping pupils thrive and meet their full potential 
  • has a friendly manner and can communicate effectively with staff and students 
  • can work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative 
  • has experience of working in a similar specialist area.
