The Role

Ref: SCH-PAT-0469

Do you have experience of governance and a sound knowledge of educational legislation, guidance and legal requirements? Are you confident in your ability to influence and advise the Chair, Trust Board and our CEO? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us:

Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross-phase Multi Academy Trust compromising of nine schools, seven primary schools and two 11-16 secondary schools, all located within a tight geographic hub in and around Pontefract. Our schools are run for the benefit of children and young people, and we have unwavering focus on achievement which is paramount so that all our children and young people enjoy greater life chances.

About the role:

The Trust recognises the importance of outstanding governance at all levels and its pivotal strategic function. Our Head of Governance and Compliance will lead the establishment, execution, and oversight of governance arrangements throughout the organisation ensuring all statutory and regulatory compliance requirements are met.

You will be part of the Trust central team and work closely with individual schools to ensure their governance is fully compliant, whilst at the same time working effectively and dynamically supporting improvements where required. A further key dimension will be ensuring effective procedures and systems link the various layers of governance – School Performance Review Boards, the Board of Trustees and the Members of the Trust – so that information flows efficiently.

We are open to consider either full time or part time applicants for this role. If you have any further questions about the role or would like to discuss making an application please contact Pam Hewitt, Director of People and Culture, via email at phewitt@patrust.org.uk.
