Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust, comprising of nine schools, seven primary schools and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Our modern, recently renovated, central office is situated in the Barracks Business Centre, and we offer all our staff a range of fantastic benefits.


We are seeking to appoint an Operations Business Partner (HR & Payroll) to join our high performing Trust. The postholder will provide a proactive response on matters relating to transactional HR, payroll, and operational support on behalf of the Trust. This is a new and exciting opportunity for a hardworking, committed colleague to become part of our growing Central Team.


Reporting directly to the Director of People & Culture, you will take responsibility for supporting our schools during the recruitment process including coordinating adverts, job descriptions and pre-employment checks. Working with the wider ‘People Team’, you will manage the payroll process in liaison with the Trust’s external payroll provider, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of pay.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of administering payroll and financial systems, have good written and verbal communication skills and experience of managing employee onboarding procedures including recruitment, contracts, and pre-employment checks.
