Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase, Multi Academy Trust comprising of eight schools, six primaries and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Pupils are drawn from the local community that includes a mix of different catchment areas.

Halfpenny Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School are seeking to recruit an Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for inclusion, to join their senior leadership team. The successful candidate will take a strategic lead on the direction and development of an inclusive culture for all pupils, especially those from a disadvantaged background and/or with SEND.

We are looking for someone who has experience of SEN provision and responsibilities, and is either a qualified SENDCo, or working towards achieving their qualification. You will be expected to support leaders and wider staff on all child welfare and child protection issues, and play a significant role in contributing to operation and strategic planning.

This is a very exciting time to join our Trust, with development opportunities available for the right candidate through effective and rewarding collaborative working. The Trust’s leadership team are committed to ensuring this school becomes an outstanding school, and while there are lots of strengths at the school, there are plenty of opportunities for someone to be accountable for significant impact in their area of responsibility.
